Mr. and I were lucky enough to relish in a mini vacay recently. We drove up to San Francisco for an extended weekend getaway. It was fantastic for many reasons, one of which was that we had not been on vacation for 6 years. I know, right? First of all, the weather was delightful. I mean, when is this muggy weather going to end?! Sunny and warm, but not too hot, with gentle breezes. One evening, I had to wear a sweater! A local told me this was the first day of sun in months. As we enjoy being by the water, we chose to stay near Fisherman’s Wharf. And, when I say near, I mean literally across the street. Someone from an online travel group I belong to recommended Hotel Zephyr, and it was perfect! Quirky, nautical designs, with an amazing courtyard (fire pits, water features, metal sculptures, comfy chairs, foosball, shuffleboard, giant Connect Four, ping pong in an industrial tube); a pleasant place to enjoy the sunshine and some beers. And the seafood! I ate all of the seafood (and most of the sourdough bread). Crab is my favorite! We had a great time, but I guess the saying, “there’s no place like home” holds true. There were a lot of people. A. Lot. One of the things I enjoy about BS is that it never really gets crowded. So we’re home now, back to real life, and back to livingtheBS…
