The Westin, Nusa Dua, Bali

Surrounded by lush green gardens and water features, and backing on to the golden sands and clear water of stunning Nusa Dua beach, The Westin is an absolute island paradise which left us wanting more.

Every meal here was exceptional, from the traditional Indonesian cuisine at beachfront Ikan bar and restaurant to the exceptional Spanish omelette and anchovies on the tapas menu at Velada, we ate well and often, and with the added bonus of kids eating for free.

The balmy days slipped by with ease for us all. My daughter enjoyed kids club activities such as yoga, Balinese dancing and nature walks, and for the adults there is a similar program of activities, including cooking classes and of course the pool, spa and gym.

The spa at Westin is absolutely heavenly, exquisite design and exceptional treatments that will leave you feeling like completely renewed. The facilities in the changing room are absolute luxury, including a steam room, sauna, spa, plunge pool and water massage shower. I had a beautiful hot stone massage using river stones from nearby Mt Agung, which was so soothing and transporting it took me a little while to come back down to earth.

The private beach was clean and expansive, providing plenty of personal space, and with ample seating and shade provided by Westin. The occasional sarong or jewellery salesman came by for a friendly chat but nothing obtrusive. On a clear day you can see Mt Agung in the background, which was smoking slightly when we visited, lending an air of excitement and a real feeling of being on a tropical island.

We had a couple of minor problems with our room but the manager was so helpful, understanding and accommodating that it didn’t put a dampener on our trip at all. We had an exceptional stay at The Westin Nusa Dua and can’t wait to come back.
