Cozumel Dreamin

I’ve been craving to travel for quite a while now, though things at work have been so busy I hadn’t got the chance.  Luckily, I got time off and had a lovely spring break at a destination that’s been on my travel bucket list for a long time…..Cozumel, Mexico.  Let’s just say….it didn’t disappoint…

The water was beautiful, refreshing and clear and the weather was amazing.  We stayed at the Cozumel Palace, an all-inclusive resort that proved to be well-worth the money.  It includes all food and beverages, including alcohol, and you get resort credits for excursions and spa treatments.

The resort is perched right over the water, with glass walls allowing views from your lounge chairs that make you feel like you are flying over the water.  There are docks with entry points to the ocean and the current is mild at this time of year.  If you choose to borrow snorkels or rafts, there are plenty of fish to see and rocky reefs to explore.  The color of the water is unbelievable, photos can’t even do it justice.

There is an infinity pool with incredible ocean and palm tree views and a lower pool with a volleyball net and swim-up bar that was a lot of fun.

Our room was absolutely stunning, with a jacuzzi spa tub inside, a balcony with ocean view and a hammock to enjoy the views and a good book.IMG_0343IMG_0408IMG_0406

The staff at the Cozumel Palace were so helpful and kind.  They seemed to be treated well there and enjoyed what they did. IMG_0380

There were different options for dinner, including an asian-style restaurant, Italian restaurant and outdoor buffet with this spectacular view.  The Italian restaurant was delicious, but overall our favorite was the outdoor buffet because of the ambiance and incredible ocean and sunset views.  The outdoor buffet included freshly-made pizzas, grilled meat on-the-spot, seafood, pasta dishes, salads, cheese and crackers, and grilled veggie options.  Of course, we always had to cheers with some delicious champagne.  The drinks were good, the food was good, the views were good, and overall it was a fantastic place to stay.  Stay tuned for more posts on our excursions on the island and a comparison to another popular place to stay……Adios for now!!
