Circus Circus

If I could visit any casino at any time in history, walking into Circus Circus around the same time Hunter S. Thompson did would be near the top of my list. There is still something surrealistic about the place, despite the rundown condition of the casino floor. You can check out the circus acts or teach your children to put money into machines at the massive arcade. If you avoid the motel style Manor out back, the rooms aren’t bad and go for a bargain price. And, oddly enough, there is a terrific old school steakhouse here called the, uh, Steakhouse. Of course the theme here, along with the attached theme park, attracts families with kids and that is both a feature and a bug. Along with its rather isolated location on the North Strip, it is what should give you second thoughts about making this your base of operations.
