Anniversary Trip 2018

This summer, we will be married for 21 years! We decided to go away early to celebrate since Mark’s work has been a bit slow and it will be very busy in the summer (when we are not camping). So, after work we drove to Vaughan and went to Copacabana for supper. I was still in my hoodie and jeans – way underdressed!

We had a seat by the window and the show started shortly after we sat down. It mostly happened in the dining room, but one girl danced right near Mark. (I was too shy to take her picture, but she had a beautiful costume and she could really dance fast in 5 inch heels!)

Mark got a Caesar and I got a Copa Bellini…but it was not what I expected (frozen and peachy). Still good, but different than I expected. Lol.

The card on the table is supposed to tell the server if you want more meat or not, but they kept asking no matter what side was up. I got to the salad bar only once, but I was more than full when we were done. The guys come around with steaks, prime rib, shrimp, or chicken on a large skewer and cut your piece off the skewer at your table. They also have pineapple on a stick near the end. The dessert was a deep fried banana piece, but you could also have corn bread or pastry with cheese in the middle if you still had room in your belly! (I did not.)

The next morning, we walked from our hotel room (Residence Inn by Marriott in Vaughan) to the subway station. We asked the lady for advice about the tickets and she let us go through for free!

We got out at Union Station and walked to the St. Lawrence market for fun. We sampled the fresh pasta with sauce. Yum!

After that, we started walking in the cool rain and stopped for coffee at McDonald’s.

After coffees, we walked to The Real Sports Bar and Grill. We had a very helpful server and when we asked about the pizza nachos, she highly recommended them. Oh my goodness they were amazing! (As was my blue crush martini.)

We took the subway back to Yorkdale mall. We went to the Cheesecake factory, but found out that the wait was 3 hours. I was not going to wait that long, but we ordered takeout for later and it took about 15 minutes instead. :)

We took the subway back to Vaughan and the same person we spoke to earlier was still there and asked how it all worked out. So friendly! We went back to the room for happy hour (another beer from Mark’s birthday pack). As soon as I got to the room, my phone told me I had exceeded my step goal. (I usually forget to have my phone on me to track my steps.)

For supper, we ordered through the Skip the Dishes app from La Campagna. It was very good!

For dessert, we had cheesecake of course! One was strawberry and the other was full of peanuts and chocolate!

The next morning, Mark slept in. Eventually, we went for breakfast in the hotel lobby. After that, we started to pack up for home. We stopped at McDonald’s for coffee and then headed to the outlet mall in Milton. We had to wait a bit, but we found a seat in the sun. We got Mark a new pink t-shirt and the boys’ dress shoes for graduation.

Next, we had lunch at Harvey’s and Mark was teasing me because I was more dressed up than I had been for Copa Cabana! Lol!

We finished up by getting Hayden some work boots from TSC in Stratford and we picked up sausages for supper. Ash made us a Caesar and the boys helped unload the van. I updated my Bbm status shortly after I got home because the countdown is on for our first camping trip! Can’t wait!
